Valentines Weekend

Happy Valentines!

We are so full of chocolate...........yum........
The girls got plenty of candy and goodies from Nana in the mail along with a cute spring outfit that they both begged to wear to school on Friday. But we fought about that and I won the battle. Memaw also got them some yummy chocolate and a big huge donut with pink icing and sprinkles. The girls got me a sweet plush flower that says 'I Love You', with the help of Memaw. They got me something that they said would never die. You think they didn't want me to kill another plant?? ha.

Lee and I got the girls a big stuffed animal (like they NEED another one!) a balloon, a dr. suess book and candy. they have been very good today actually, even with all the sugar they have ingested. Thomas tried to snack a little on their goodies and he especially liked their balloon strings. Rachel let him have it and squeezed him until he clawed her and ran away...we haven't seen him since. ha ha. stay tuned.........

We are looking forward to a nice, hopefully quiet evening. Dinner at home and a movie will be our Valentines agenda. Maybe we'll even get in bed early! It's great sleeping weather, cold and dreary.

Happy Day!

Soccer Games

We begin games this weekend...Olivia plays every Saturday at 10:30 and Thursdays at 6pm.

Rachel's games are at 10 every Saturday except for 3/07 at 11.

We would love for you to join the fun!

Thursdays are always hard for us after being out late on Wednesday nights with church and choir practice. So I knew this morning would be tough. Somehow, even after getting up a little late, we got to school so early! sometimes i just don't know how we do it...and then other times we are up early and i guess waste time...next thing you know we are in the late line. teachers looking at the unorganized, late mom who can't get her kids to school on time...... oh well. life goes on. i'm ready for spring break. :) Have a great day.

Such BIG GIRLS!

This morning Lee and I skipped the gym and slept in a little...my alarm kept going off and i kept hitting snooze. I knew it was about time to get the girls up for school when i heard a commotion in the hall bathroom. I saw lights on and thought the worst! I could just imagine food or candy everywhere, toys in the bathroom, who knows....and that is not crazy thinking since it's happened before! Imagine my surprise when I followed the noise all the way to the laundry room and opened the door...........................to find both children fully dressed! WHAT THE HECK??? Of course, they were tormenting the cat at the moment, but I was so proud and shocked at them for even getting up by themselves, not to mention the being dressed part. Olivia had gotten Rachel up, gotten them both dressed and was about to brush hair and teeth. Somehow the cat distracted them and they were trying to cram him back into his kitty door to make him go to his room. Olivia told me she did this so they could have time to watch TV. Hey...whatever works...

This after having to almost hold them down to make them stay in their beds long enough to fall asleep last night. But i will take what i can get. These days will pass too quickly as they are growing up so fast. Sweet BIG girls.

Soccer, X2

This is a new season for us...TWO girls in soccer. just keeping up with who is playing and practicing when and where is a challenge. Now we see Rachel channeling her excessive supply of energy into something structured. This is great! She is tearing up the field, handling the ball with ease, and running all over her male teammates, literally. She made one little boy cry Monday night when she ran into him and kept going. And she never stopped. She keeps the coaches laughing and even held her own while filling in on Olivia's team one night. So far so good. We'll see how it goes when there is actually another team on the field and she has to stay focused on her goal.

Olivia is doing well too. I can see that she has matured a little since last year and is finally being aggressive with the ball. Last year she never would go after the ball if someone else had it...she thought that was being rude. HA HA. Now she is playing on an all-girls team called the Heartbreakers, which she thinks is the coolest thing. We will have games every saturday at 9 or 10 for Rachel, and 10:30 for Olivia. Olivia also has games on Thursdays at 6. Busy time!

In other news........the girls have decided to change the name and sex of our cat...instead of Thomas, he is now a girl kitten named Fluffy. ??

It's Valentines week which means candy, parties and lots of little valentines...I can't believe it's already the middle of February. Olivia is excited about her school party and really wants to make all her valentines. I'm not sure that i'm up for that. I mean, she has 20 kids in her class and that's a lot of gluing and writing. I think Wal-Mart makes great valentines.........................

That's all the news i can think of at the moment. Happy Wednesday!

Just a Wednesday...

well, it's mid-week and cold! we love this weather, but the girls get really stir crazy at times when they can't be outside. this week we have discovered that our camcorder that is like 7 years old suddenly works again....so i've gotten out all our home movies and have kept the girls busy watching them. Rachel keeps getting confused as to why she is not grown up in the videos. ha. of course, it's mostly of Olivia's first years and maybe the first of Rachel's. but then the switch broke and i haven't picked it up since. until monday night. last night we watched videos from before we had rachel until after rachel's birth. we were surprised and a little overwhelmed when we saw videos of lee's dad in some family moments, christmases, etc. Then i saw Uncle Leo and his girls visiting us at Mamaw & Papaws' in Christmas of 2003. Those were definitely bitter sweet to see. Great memories though. I'm so thankful for the memories and the times i've had to spend with family. I'm glad we have those videos too, to show our children how loved they have always been. God is good and has blessed us in so many ways through the years.

Ok, moving on to less mushy stuff.......

We actually all slept through the night last night. although, olivia informed me this morning that she didn't sleep good at all because rachel (who snuck into bed with her) coughed and kept her up all night. ha ha. yeah, right. i never heard a whimper out of either of them. i'm sure she did cough some, but obviously olivia slept through it all.

another day under our belt. valentine's day is fast approaching and the girls have been scoping out their chocolate choices. However, Olivia asked me this morning if we could make our own doritos?????? goodness. that's what i get for reading her the ingredients. she thinks b/c they are made with corn i can just whip them up. That's really not my specialty.

Oh, we have a boyfriend issue......with Rachel. She has decided that a little boy, Jacob, in her class is her boyfriend. she told me he 'held' her during a movie the other day! YIKES! So, now we have a new rule...no hugging, kissing, holding, or whatever else until you are 21. :) and that's that! any questions????

Musical Beds

It's such a beautiful day today...i love this cold weather. Both girls have started soccer for the spring, which is such a cold season to play! I don't know how long Olivia will be playing soccer..she gets really distracted about halfway through the season. She would rather be dancing or singing. This is Rachel's first year and she seems to be thilled to be out there. she has so much energy! Maybe this will help her focus and mature a little. She still wants to be held all the time.

Last night was one of those nights where I ask myself...are you sure you want more kids?? but then again, why not, i'm already up most nights anyway. ha ha. Rachel was up coughing, Olivia must have just heard Rachel making noise and hopped into my bed...then Rachel comes in...then I take Rachel to her bed...here comes Olivia in about half hour......Rachel needs soemthing to drink and medicine....then tons of kleenex later......Lee's alarm is going off and he is not hearing it. So i get up AGAIN out of my warm spot between both children to go hit HIS snooze button. i doze back off and about an hour later it's time to get up. wow. what a night. All in a days work. Of course, Thomas (the cat) is waiting on me to get up and feed him, since he's poor and neglected. Although, I did try to kill him by shutting the garage door on his head last week...but he survived. Only 8 lives left.

Well, so far, that's about it for today. I am looking forward to blogging and keeping everyone up to date on the happenings of our family. We always have fun things to share.....................stay tuned............
